Gabby is originally from Portland, Oregon, and earned her B.A. in Molecular Biology from Pomona College in 2025. As an undergraduate, she worked in Dr. Jane Liu's lab investigating lysis inhibition, a regulatory mechanism of the bacterium Vibrio Cholerae in response to bacteriophage. Gabby spent her gap year in Dr. James Frank's lab at Oregon Health & Science University synthesizing chemical tools to study cannabinoid receptor signaling. In the Morstein lab, Gabby's research focuses on developing novel fluorescent probes to investigate lipid oxidation. Outside the lab, she enjoys swimming, hiking, reading, and traveling to new places.
