Gabriel received his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Oberlin College. During his undergraduate education, he worked on the synthesis of small-molecule inhibitors for rhomboid proteases under the guidance of Dr. William Parsons and conducted DFT mechanistic studies of transition metal-catalyzed reactions under the supervision of Dr. Shuming Chen. Outside the lab, Gabriel enjoys watching sports, playing soccer, and riding roller coasters in amusement parks.
