Ella was born and raised in Israel. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, during which she investigated DNA behavior in salt solutions and deep eutectic solvents using Molecular Dynamics simulations in Prof. Daniel Harries's lab. She then earned her Master's degree at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Prof. Nir London's lab, developing reversible-covalent PROTACs targeting Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK). During her PhD in the same group, her primary research focused on the development of PINCHs - Polymerization Inducing Chimeras - a novel modality for knocking down protein targets, leveraging their symmetric nature, and circumventing the need for additional effector proteins. Ella is excited to delve into interdisciplinary research, bridging between chemical probe development and their utilization for exploring complex biological systems.
